DANIELI PROCOME PARTICIPATES IN SIDENOR-BASAURI’S BLOOMPRO PROJECT
The Bloom System will be upgraded in order to obtain round products with a diameter of up to 600mm, requested by highly-demanding sectors, such as railway and energy industries.
Danieli Procome is engaged in the BLOOMPRO project which is being carried out at Sidenor plant in Basauri (Bizkaia). Its aim is to adapt the facilities for the development of new large round products to advanced features. This type of material has an increasing demand since it is used to manufacture high-technology and high-quality pieces, such as running elements for the railway sector or other components for wind and gas industries.
As a benchmark in manufacturing and engineering design of machineries for steelmaking companies, Danieli Procome is in charge of adapting Sidenor’s continuous casting facilities to the new sizes of round Blooms that can reach a diameter of up to 600mm. This is a turnkey project, therefore Danieli Procome is taking part in the most crucial phases of BLOOMPRO, from the design of solutions, passing through development and erection on site, to the start-up and validation of new facilities.
BLOOMPRO project participates in the HAZITEK program for supporting corporate R&D, which is subsidized by the Basque Government and co-financed by the European Union through the funds of the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
